THE PALEO-BALKAN LANGUAGES IN THE CONTEXT OF GENEALOGICAL CLASSIFICATION: LINGUOHISTORIOGRAPHIC ASPECT

The purpose of the article is to reveal features study relict Paleo-Balkan languages in their connection with other Indo-European linguistics second half XIX century – beginning XXI century. It noted that when identifying a group languages, single criterion has not yet been clearly established: both areal and genetic principles are involved. At same time material fully taken into account genealogical classification languages; if Thracian, Phrygian, Illyrian included this as separate groups, then place old Macedonian, “Pelasgian”, defined. In addition, traditional does take special proximity Armenian, Albanian Ancient Greek. discovery briefly described. connections Albanian, Greek, Hittite, Luvian, Baltic, Germanic, Slavic Indo-Iranian revealed. author focuses on fact mainly reconstructed at phonological, lexical, derivational levels (to lesser extent morphological syntactic levels), although due limited uneven corresponding data, such reconstruction also limited, some cases contradictory.
